The Society of African Australian Lawyers Inc. (SAALI) is immensely proud to launch the SAALI African Law Student Award 2026.
This initiative is created to recognize and support exceptional law students of African heritage here in Western Australia, who are making meaningful contributions to community and demonstrate leadership potential.
The Award is open to current law students of African heritage enrolled in a law school in Western Australia and consists of a cash prize, an internship with the in-house legal team at Perseus Mining Limited and access to a mentor.
We believe in the power of representation and are committed to empowering the next generation of young lawyers aspiring to a career in law.
Application Process
Submit an application of no more than 650 words detailing your academic achievements, leadership roles or initiatives, and community engagement. The submission must demonstrate:

- Leadership
- Community Engagement
Submission Deadline
All submissions must be made by email to saaliinc@gmail.com by 30 June 2026.
Announcement and presentation of the award will take place at SAALI’s Annual General Meeting in late July 2025.
