“Recognising talent; creating opportunity”.

We are thrilled to announce the 2025 winner of the SAALI Law Student Prize – Miss Panashe Cynthia Mudimu. Congratulations Panashe!
The aim of the Award is to recognise the academic achievement, leadership skills and outstanding potential of the talented students within the SAALI legal community. Panashe, a final year student at Murdoch University and President of the Murdoch African Society, impressed the judges with these qualities. This year we received an increase in applications and there was strong competition for the Award.
A huge thank you to Perseus Mining Limited who are generously providing an internship to our student winner for the second year in a row. Perseus Mining Limited are an African focused gold mining company, with operations in Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire and projects in Tanzania and Sudan. This internship provides a meaningful pathway into legal practice in the African mining sector for a diverse and uniquely positioned pool of talent within WA. We are especially grateful to Martijn Bosboom, General Counsel of Perseus, for his continued leadership and unwavering support of this initiative.
We also extend our sincere thanks to this year’s judging panel – Ebenezer Assibey-Bonsu (Chair), Martijn Bosboom, , Ayaan Omar, Davis Mavunduse and Dr Dominic Dagbanja – for their valuable contributions.
