The Inaugural African Law Student Award was held in 2024 with our winner announced at the Annual General Meeting – congratulations Mako Murazvu!
The aim of the Award is to recognise the academic achievement, leadership skills and outstanding potential of the talented students within the SAALI legal community.
A huge thank you to Perseus Mining Limited who provided an internship to our student winner. Perseus Mining Limited are an African focused gold mining company, with operations in Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire, Tanzania and Sudan. The inaugural internship is a first step towards creating opportunities in the law and African mining, for a diverse and uniquely positioned pool of talent within WA. We would especially like to thank Martijn Bosboom, General Counsel of Perseus, for supporting our vision.
We would also like to thank the Management Committee and selection panel consisting of Kaday Conteh, Ebenezer Assibey-Bonsu, Ayaan Omar and Dr Dominic N. Dagbanja FHEA PhD for their work on this initiative.
